Exposing photo manipulation from user-guided 3D lighting analysis

چکیده
We describe a photo forensic technique based on detecting inconsistencies in lighting. This technique explicitly measures the 3-D lighting properties for individual people, objects, or surfaces in a single image. We show that with minimal training, an analyst can accurately specify 3-D shape in a single image from which 3-D lighting can be automatically estimated. A perturbation analysis on the estimated lighting is performed to yield a probabilistic measure of the location of the illuminating light. Inconsistencies in lighting within an image evidence photo tampering.

Intrinsic image decomposition from multiple photographs
Editing materials and lighting is a common image manipulation task that requires signifi-cant expertise to achieve plausible results. Each pixel aggregates the effect of both materialand lighting, therefore standard color manipulations are likely to affect both components.Intrinsic image decomposition separates a photograph into independent layers: reflectance, which represen...
متن کاملOcclusion Handling and Image-based Lighting using Sliced Images in 3D Photo Collections
This paper presents novel methods to handle potential occlusion problems and to render realistically the lighting of embedded virtual 3D objects in photo-based 3D worlds. These 3D worlds are called 3D Photo Collections. The first focus of this work handles potential occlusion problems between image parts of photos and the embedded virtual objects by dividing photos into 3D segments, which we ca...
متن کاملDepicting shape, materials and lighting: observation, formulation and implementation of artistic principles
The appearance of a scene results from complex interactions between the geometry, materials and lights that compose that scene. While Computer Graphics algorithms are now capable of simulating these interactions, it comes at the cost of tedious 3D modeling of a virtual scene, which only well-trained artists can do. In contrast, photographs allow the instantaneous capture of a scene, but shape, ...
متن کاملCSCI 6270 COMPUTATIONAL VISION PROJECT Exposing Digital Forgeries in Complex Lighting Environments
The increase in sophistication of image manipulation software such as Adobe Photoshop, coupled with improvements in imaging algorithms, has given rise to digital forgeries that are very hard to detect. My project here is based on the paper ’Exposing Digital Forgeries in Complex Lighting Environments’ [4], wherein the authors detail a technique to identify digital forgeries via inconsistencies i...
متن کاملAn Interactive Interface for Lighting-by-Example
Lighting design in computer graphics is essentially not a random process but one driven by both a technical and aesthetic appreciation of lighting. In some applications, the result of the lighting design process is a 2D image derived by rendering a 3D scene. Users with limited understandings of manipulation of lighting parameters may have difficulties in properly modifying the lighting paramete...
